Democracy Fund

Issue One

Issue One is dedicated to reducing the influence of money in politics and putting Americans of all stripes back in control of our democracy. They seek to change the dynamic by educating, marketing, and popularizing the cause; building a community of donors and leaders; and filling gaps in the field.

Why We Invested

Fostering change in the campaign finance realm requires a long-term strategy that includes creating a landscape where a wide and diverse range of advocates are part of the reform conversation. Issue One is working to bring Americans from across the political spectrum together to pursue solutions to the undue influence of money in politics so that our political leadership is able to address the issues that concern Americans, whether it’s the national debt or climate change.

Through efforts to create a shared vision for advocates, strategic grant making, and organizing bipartisan leadership, Issue One aims to fill the gaps in the movement and spread the notion that we all pay a price when money overwhelms our politics.
