Center for Cooperative Media: Peer Learning and Collaboration Fund

The Center for Cooperative Media, a grant-funded organization based at Montclair State University's School of Communication and Media, grows and strengthens local journalism through the use of partnerships, collaboration, training, product development, research, and communication.

Why We Invested

The Center for Cooperative Media’s Peer Learning and Collaboration (PLACE) Fund will facilitate a peer-learning program that includes travel stipends, meetings, and other activities for staff at local news organizations so that they can build stronger networks, share lessons, and get inspiration from each other.

Democracy Fund is proud to support the Center for Cooperative Media’s PLACE Fund, which will create new and stronger relationships among news organizations and civic organizations, leading to shared visions, engaged journalism, and adaptive capacity.
