Why We Invested
We believe that protecting a citizen’s digital identity is paramount to good practices for government entities, especially as it relates to our elections. With growing public concerns around digital privacy in the elections space, the Democracy Fund supports a two year project aimed at identifying both election cybersecurity issues, and best practices in the areas of voter registration databases, campaign data, and communications. This project with the Center of Democracy and Technology (CDT) seeks to facilitate discussions with key stakeholders in the field. Ultimately, the goal of this grant is to provide election officials and others with the necessary tools to meaningfully address issues in election digital security.
