Foreign Lobby Watch

The Foreign Lobby Watch, a project of the Center for Responsive Politics, is a leading independent, nonpartisan research watchdog that tracks money in American politics and its effect on elections and public policy.

Foreign Lobby Watch, a project of Center for Responsive Politics, is seeking to enhance transparency and strengthen enforcement of ethics and corruption rules through better access to information about who has registered to lobby on behalf of foreign governments.

With our support, the Center for Responsive Politics’ (CRP) Foreign Lobby Watch project will work to extract and analyze data from reports filed under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA); convert the data into a useful form; and make it available for journalists, scholars, and the public to review. This is a key transparency and accountability measure, allowing researchers and the American public to better understand how foreign governments are attempting to influence U.S. policy making.
