Federation of American Scientists: Congressional Science Policy Initiative

The Federation of American Scientists (FAS) serves the public good by educating policymakers on critical science and technology matters that impact our society. Founded in 1945 by many of the scientists who built the first atomic bombs, FAS is committed to the view that scientists, engineers, and other people with technical training have the ethical obligation to ensure that the technological fruits of their intellect and labor are applied to benefit humankind.

Why We Invested

The Federation of American Scientists (FAS) will use this grant to expand efforts to encourage its membership to engage more regularly with Congress to inform members and staff on topics related to their expertise. FAS will build a web-based communications portal for its membership and congressional offices to connect in a timely way so scientists and technologists can provide high-quality, trustworthy, and unbiased information to congressional offices.
