Government Accountability Project

The Government Accountability Project (GAP) is a non-profit, public interest group dedicated to provide whistleblower protection and serve as an advocacy organization in the United States.

Employees who witness misconduct in the workplace typically stay silent for two primary reasons: fear of reprisal or fear of futility. Since its inception, the Government Accountability Project has served as a lifeline to employees of conscience and has helped them release critical information that serves the public interest and the common good.

With the help of our grant, the Government Accountability Project seeks to produce and distribute print and electronic copies of Know Your Rights materials via a strategic outreach campaigns to federal employees, build a network of volunteer attorneys to amplify GAP’s ability to represent whistleblowers, strengthen existing and developing new strategic partnerships with NGOs, and increase favorable discussions about whistleblowers and greater understanding of distinctions between leaking classified information.
