National Association of Black Journalists

The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) is an organization of journalists, journalism educators, students, and media-related professionals that provide quality programs and services to advocates on behalf of black journalists worldwide.

WHY WE INVESTED

At a time when diverse voices are proving to be important to the American story, the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) is dedicated to providing an array of training opportunity for both experienced and young journalists.

With the help of our grant, NABJ is seeking to increase community and networks among black journalists by raising issues of work equality, expanding job opportunities, and recruiting helpful activities for veteran, young, and aspiring black journalists. Our grant will also allow NABJ to increase the number of black journalists in management positions and encourage black journalists to become entrepreneurs by fostering an exemplary group of professionals that honors excellence and outstanding achievements by black journalists. NABJ seeks to achieve its goals by working with high schools and colleges to identify and encourage black students to become journalists and providing informational and training services to the general public.
