Partnership for Public Service

The Partnership for Public Service is a non-profit, non-partisan organization focused on supporting civil service by inspiring a new generation of civil servants, improving management and operation systems of federal agencies, identifying stories of government efficiency, and generating research on the workplace challenges facing the federal government.

Why We Invested

The Partnership for Public Service actively takes on the challenges of improving our federal government’s employment, management, and operating systems. As the Partnership continues to convene orientations, workshops, and mentorships, as well as other educational and relationship-building endeavors for a wide variety of government employees, this grant focuses on expanding the amount of support offered to increase cooperation and effectiveness across the branches of government.

The Partnership will play an essential role in supporting the transition process for the next president as they prepare to staff the executive branch in 2017. The organization works with the nominees of both parties as they search for qualified individuals to hold important posts in our federal government, and with the executive and legislative branch to improve the appointee confirmation process and increase knowledge on how Congress and the executive branch can interact to promote a well-functioning government.

The Democracy Fund supports the Partnership’s activities to improve relationships between the branches of the federal government, enhance accountability for Congressional stewardship for the Executive Branch, and increase knowledge across the board of the challenges facing the government. The Partnership for Public Service does valuable work in creating a stronger government and increasing the quality of civil service in America. Particularly, they effectively increase the ability of the three branches of government to work together and in educating public servants to meet the challenges facing the country.
