Through nonpartisan research and public engagement, Public Agenda provides insights, tools and support for people to build common ground and arrive at solutions that work for them.

​Why We Invested

The field of participatory budgeting in the United States is relatively young and the work being carried out is known to only a few people. Through nonpartisan research and public engagement Public Agenda will play a lead role in the development of participatory budgeting through surfacing local evaluation research, performing independent research and communicating research results to key constituencies. Learning more about how individual community efforts are implemented and with what results is expected to help improve and expand participatory budgeting across the country.
