The Civic Engagement and Elections Research Fund

The Civic Engagement and Elections Research Fund, a joint effort of democracy funders at the New Venture Fund, seeks to strengthen the field of elections and voting research and provide funding for academic and policy research that supports the work of the philanthropic sectors.

Why We Invested

The Civic Engagement and Elections Research Collaborative Fund (“RCF”) supports research on elections and civic engagement tactics through collaborative grantmaking. Started in 2016, the Civic Engagement and Elections Research Collaborative Fund (“RCF”) is a collaborative effort between funders committed to strengthening the philanthropic sector through academic and policy research. The RCF invests in research projects of shared interest and is committed to using its findings to help understand complex problems in civic engagement and to inform funders, advocates, academics, and others.

Total Commitment

2019: $175,000 2017: Up to $400,000 over two years. 2016: Up to $250,000 over one year.
